Sensory Swing - BEST! (SEE Description for Why) Sensory Swing Autism ADHD Therapy Cuddle Stretch
**HERE'S WHY THIS SWING IS THE BEST SENSORY SWING YOU WILL EVER FIND!!** ... We designed and developed this swing because we have a son with non-verbal autism. We have spent an enormous amount of money on all types of swings and took the best aspects of each cuddle swing we purchased and started making our own for a fraction of the price of the 'special needs' on-line stores. We decided to share this swing with others. **WE PERSONALLY HAND MAKE EACH OF THESE SWINGS**
This swing is perfect for all kids, not just those with special needs! However, for those kids with special needs, there are a lot of proven benefits to swinging:
Very calming - our son often falls asleep in the swing, or calms down if he is stressed
Vestibular system therapy - our son benefited greatly from swinging, spinning, full-body pressure, etc. His therapists (Occupational and Physical therapy) recommended swinging for vestibular therapy
Excellent for physical therapy - our son basically taught himself to walk while using a similar swing. He did not walk until he was four years old. Swinging allowed him to test his balance, push, pull, stand, etc. until he became confident enough to know he could walk without holding on to furniture
What makes our swing different from others: We have spent several years purchasing swings from multiple websites. We have purchased the most expensive and the most economical swings. We finally found fabric that is ultra-stretchy (4 way stretch) made of 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex. The fabric is very similar to women's bathing suit material. It is very thin and breathable. Our son does not get hot in this swing. He is able to get into every position imaginable with ease and comfort. It can be 'bunched up' to function as a traditional swing (sitting), or he can lay inside, completely stretched out. He often bounces or spins.
This swing hold up to 200 lbs and the height can be adjusted by adding knots to the nylon webbing straps when hanging in order to accommodate different heights and weights. Instructions for hanging are included. You will need a bracket to hang the swing.
This swing is perfect for Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum, etc. Swinging strengthens the vestibular and proprioceptive system by teaching your child's body and brain to work together, improving motor planning skills. Sensory integration greatly improves coordination, balance, body awareness, motor planning, etc.
Swinging is recommended by occupational and physical therapists. It assists with strengthening core muscles, which improves walking and balance.
This swing comes in multiple colors, including BLUE, RED, HOT PINK,
